Welcome to Reception!

A warm welcome to all our new Reception Class!
We are all so proud of the children and how they settled into their first few weeks of Primary School! They are getting to know the routines of the classroom and the layout of the school, and discovering all the new and exciting learning opportunities available.
This term we will be focussing on ‘Mud, Mess and Mixtures’, as well as phonics and mathematical development. Our RE topic is ‘Myself’.
Activities to do at home
- Read with your child every night.
- Please encourage your child to know their full name and their family name, as part of our RE topic.
- Encourage your child to count - for example, stairs, cars, toys etc.
- Please inform school if you are changing dinner arrangements. Please bring dinner money every Monday for the whole week in a clearly labelled envelope.
- Please ensure all school uniform and coats are named.
- Children can bring in fruit for playtime and a bottle of water. Please make these clearly labelled.
PE
Our PE days are Monday and Tuesday. All the children are able to get dressed into their PE clothes independently and have had great fun working on balancing and travelling over low apparatus. Please ensure all clothing is labelled.
