Physical Education

The Key Stage 2 Sports day was also a massive success and very well supported by parents and friends. We were lucky to have a beautiful afternoon. The children took part in a carousel of activities that included egg n spoon, long jump, shot putt and others. We saw great team work and the children all cheered each other on and supported each other. A great reflection of the positive attitudes that our children have. We are very proud of them all. Well done to Yellow team who were the KS2 winners! Llongyfarchiadau!

Foundation Phase Sports Day

We had another successful Sports Day! The Foundation Phase children were outstanding. They all tried their best and we hope they had lots of fun. I think the water relay was a very popular addition to the event. Gwaith Da Pawb!

We would like to thank all the parents, friends and family members who attended especially those who helped to keep score and escorted groups around the activities. Diolch!

The Reception children have been enjoying the sunshine and have brought a little bit of Wimbledon to Gabalfa. We have been practising our tennis skills. We have been using racquets and balls to practice hitting the ball back and fore to our partner. It was really tricky at first but we persevered and eventually we got the hang of it. Can you see the big smiles on our faces?

Year 3 Cricket lessons

The children in Year 3 have loved learning to play cricket in the sunshine. We have been learning how to bowl and bat. We have been learning the basic rules and we learned that you have to have 2 batters and that the points you score are called runs.

Ryan 'My favourite bit was when I got my first 5 hits

Charlie 'I loved it and my favourite part was when Jens hit it over the wall 2 times

Geraint Thomas/ Maindy Flyers project

The school are delighted to have been asked to take part in a project that will celebrate not only the achievement of Geraint Thomas but also the Maindy Flyers. We will be producing artwork which will be displayed at The Maindy Centre in collaboration with other local schools.
