St Joseph's R.C. Primary School

Peer Mediators/Friendly Solvers

Peer Mediators 2024-2025

Peer Mediators play a vital role in fostering a positive environment at St. Joseph's RC Primary School. As representatives of the school’s ethos of care and compassion, these students are selected to promote respectful communication, effective conflict resolution, and strong community values.

After several meetings, our peer mediator groups decided to create more explanatory posters to display in classrooms, and we voted to have a representative that would visit other classrooms and explain to them our roles.. These posters will reinforce our role and remind everyone that we are always available in the playground to help resolve any issues.

Action Plan (Short Summary)

The Peer Mediators-Friendly Solvers Action Plan aims to empower students at St. Joseph’s RC Primary School to foster positive communication, resolve conflicts constructively, and support the school’s Catholic ethos of care and compassion. Peer Mediators will take on leadership roles, delivering presentations on communication and conflict resolution to various year groups, assisting with playground mediation, and promoting emotional well-being across the school. Regular training, reflection, and support will ensure their growth in leadership, resilience, and mediation skills. The plan also includes monitoring progress through termly evaluations and feedback, ensuring sustained impact and continuous improvement.

Meet our Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary for our Peer Mediators (Friendly Solvers).
