School Website and TheSchoolApp
Electronic Forms and TheSchoolApp
To support our Eco-Committee in raising awareness of the importance of forests in tackling climate change and to demonstrate the importance of being ethical, informed citizens who show commitment to the sustainability of the planet, we are aiming to reduce the amount of paper we use as a school.
We will begin asking parents to complete forms using our school website. Our electronic forms can be completed on a laptop, tablet or mobile device for added convenience. Electronic forms will be uploaded to the site and made accessible under the ‘Forms’ tab. Our most recent electronic form was our ‘Annual Questionnaire to Parents/Carers’. All responses made are anonymous and returned instantaneously. Not only are we making it easier for parents to provide much valued feedback, we are saving trees too! If you haven’t already completed the questionnaire, please spare a few minutes to do so.
The school have also recently invested in TheSchoolApp. This is used to instantly send school notifications to mobile devices. To stay up to date with the latest school news and see upcoming events, parents are required to download the app. Instructions on how to do this can be found under the 'Parents' tab.
TheSchoolApp replaces Schoop and will be our main way of communicating with parents. Should extra-curricular clubs be cancelled or an event rearranged, a notification will be sent via the app. We will also post whole school information and important updates to the ‘Latest News’ section of the site. ‘Latest News’ is displayed on our homepage and will also be visible on our Twitter page from 29th March 2019. Parental engagement is important to us. The app will help the school form deeper partnerships with parents. Please support us and take a few minutes to download our app from either the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
Our website is being updated to make it easier for parents to navigate and find the information they need.
Each class page has been redesigned and provides an overview of the skills the children will learn during the year, topics covered and expectations regarding homework.
In Key Stage 2, half-termly homework projects and spellings will be displayed at the bottom of each class page. Children are expected to use Bug Club and Mathletics at home to support their learning on a weekly basis.
Photos will be displayed for each class in the gallery. These will be found under the 'Gallery' tab. Under each photo will be a written description of the activities the children have been participating in. This will replace the weekly newsletter.
We welcome feedback and would love to hear your thoughts on these changes. Please navigate to ‘Electronic Forms’ and click ‘App and Website Feedback’ to answer the questionnaire. Thank you for your support.
