We hope everyone has had a restful break! School reopens to pupils on Monday 6th September 2021. In accordance with WG guidelines and to enable education to operate as ‘business as usual’ as far as possible, entry and exit times for pupils will revert back to normal times.
For Reception Class through to Year 6, the school buzzer/bell will be rung at 8.55am for start of school day. Each day KS2 children can go straight in to their classrooms from allocated entrances in the school nearest their classrooms from 8.45 am onwards. Foundation Phase children will enter via their respective classrooms from the playground. (Teachers will be in classrooms to accept the pupils and learning support staff will be on the gates AS NO PARENTS WILLBE ALLOWED ON SITE with the exception of Nursery and Reception).
Nursery sessions will be 9am to 11.30am (MORNING) and 1.00pm to 3.30pm (AFTERNOON) and parents can only enter the school via St Mark's Church.
Children who are transitioning from Nursery to Reception Class - On Monday 6th September ONLY - those children who attended morning nursery in the last academic year will start in the Reception class at 8.55am and finish at 11am and afternoon children will arrive at 1pm and finish at 3.30pm. Please enter the school via St Mark's Church for this one off session. As of Tuesday 7th September and onwards, all children will then come in, via any gate, for 8.55am and finish at 3.30pm. For those children who are attending our school for the first time in our Reception Class, they will join the afternoon session on Monday 6th September from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and then start at 8.55am from Tuesday 7th September.
In the interest of safety, parents are asked to make sure that children do not arrive in school before 8.45am.
In accordance with guidelines we are continuing to encourage learners to maintain physical distance wherever possible, ensure staff maintain physical distance and are encouraging all learners and staff to wash their hands regularly. Please could all parents continue to wear a mask unless they are exempt keep 2 metres apart and leave the school gates/ drop off barriers as soon as possible to avoid congestion.
In the interest of safety, please could parents walking or cycling to school use the North Road gate and only use St Mark’s Car park if driving to school.
