Self isolation rules have changed IMPORTANT UPDATE

It is essential that parents notify the school of any pupil who has been confirmed as a positive case for COVID19 OR if they are displaying any of the 3 recognised COVID19 symptoms: continuous cough, high temperature or loss or change to smell or taste.

As of 29th October, 2021, the Welsh Government changed it stance on self-isolation;

Fully vaccinated or aged 5 to 17

  • If somebody in your household has symptoms or has tested positive and you are fully vaccinated (or aged 5 to 17) you should self-isolate and take a PCR test. If the test is negative, you can stop isolating.

Not fully vaccinated

  • If someone in your household has tested positive and you are not fully vaccinated you should self-isolate for 10 days. You should take a PCR test on day 2 and day 8. You should self-isolate for 10 days even if your tests are negative.

If you have been in close contact with somebody who has COVID-19 (outside of your household):

If you are fully vaccinated or under 18

  • If you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, outside of you household, you do not need to self-isolate if you do not have any symptoms. You should get a PCR test on day 2 and day 8.
  • If you do have symptoms, you should self-isolate and get a PCR test immediately and continue to self-isolate for 10 days if the result is positive.

We have had confirmation from TTP that although close contacts are not required to self-isolate if they are fully vaccinated and under 18 in Cardiff we strongly encourage close contacts not to attend any educational setting and to book a PCR test on day 2 and day 8.

If your child is ill please do not bring them to school.
