New Reception children - September return to school

Reception Return to School – September 2020

We are really looking forward to welcoming everybody back in September. The new Reception children will be having a staggered start. All children will require a packed lunch, drink and fruit snack. In line with Welsh Government guidance, from Wednesday 2nd September to Friday 4th September school will only be open to Year 6 children and the new Reception children.

On Wednesday 2nd September, those children who attended morning Nursery and are moving to Reception are asked to attend school from 9.10am – 3.20pm. They will initially return to their Nursery classroom and settle in with Mrs Wheeler and Mrs Brooks. After snack time they will be taken to their new classroom to work with their new teacher (Miss Allwood) and TA (Mrs Virgo), and they will remain there for the rest of the day. Mrs Wheeler and Mrs Brooks will also support their settling into Reception. On Thursday 3rd September these children are to go straight to the Reception classroom – staff will meet you at the school gates and take the children to their classroom.

The children who attended afternoon Nursery are asked to attend school on Thursday 3rd September at 9.10. Again, they will initially return to their Nursery classroom and will go to the Reception class after snack-time where they will join with the other children.

In the week beginning Monday 7th September Reception children will attend school from 9.10am – 3.40pm every day. The other classes will be introduced back into school gradually over the course of the week.

The school kitchen will not be open so all children need a packed lunch. There will be no breakfast club until 5th October.

Further information can be found on the school website

You may only enter the school from either St Mark’s or the North Road entrance as the Heathfield Road entrance will be locked for safety purposes.

Take care and stay safe
