Dear parents and carers,
On 3rd June 2020, the Minister for Education announced that schools would open from the 29th June 2020 until 27th July 2020, so all learners have the opportunity to “check in, catch up and prepare” for summer and September.
Today19/06/20, late this afternoon, the plans for pupils to return to school for four weeks have been changed by Cardiff Council. It is now expected that all learners will have the opportunity to attend school for face to face time over three weeks and Term will end on 20th July.
At St Joseph’s with social distancing measures in place, we are able to accommodate a reduced number of learners each day. We are constrained by the physical layout of the school and the need to ensure appropriate social distancing measures are in place. This means that we are only able to admit between three and four small groups (25%) from each year group each day.
We have as a school been working tirelessly to come up with a plan for your child's return, ensuring all children had some time with their teachers. This was to be shared with you on Monday. However we will now need to reassess our plans for specific times and days when children will attend. We will share these new plans with you ASAP.
Stay Safe,
Alex Riordan
