After adapting to offer a virtual service, The Cardiff Flying Start Parent Groups are back in the community helping Cardiff-based families with face-to-face services that support early parenting issues for children aged up to 3 years and 11 months.
The team have started their Parent Nurturing Programme at The Powerhouse Hub in Llanedeyrn, offering ten weekly sessions, along with a creche, that aims to provide healthy ways for families to manage the stress and challenges of family life.
As part of the programme, families learn how to deal with any challenges by engaging in peer support and positive parenting strategies, with an additional learning opportunity for parents to complete an Agored Accreditation Qualification.
A Parent Nurturing Facilitator said, “It’s great to be back working in the community delivering face-to-face parenting groups and seeing the parent nurturing programme work its magic and facilitate positive change for families.”
The teams have been working tirelessly to get the services back in the community, ensuring it complies with restrictions and offers a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for all families to enjoy.
