Show your support for a One Planet Cardiff this Earth Hour

The Year 4 Eco Committee would like share the following information to get as many people involved as possible:

Show your support for a One Planet Cardiff by switching off your lights from 8.30-9.30pm on Saturday 26th March and joining millions of people across the world for Earth Hour.

Taking part in Earth Hour is one way people can show they care about the future of our planet and this year Cardiff Castle, the New Theatre and City Hall will all be taking part.

We all have a role to play in reducing carbon emissions - our One Planet Cardiff strategy for a carbon neutral Cardiff by 2030 sets out the actions we’re taking, and many of you will already be working on projects that contribute to this aim - but we also need people to take action at home, whether that’s by switching to a renewable energy supplier, leaving the car at home when possible, or eating more locally sourced fresh food.

Taking the first step to reducing your carbon emissions could be as simple as flicking a switch on Saturday night.

Find out how you can get involved with Earth Hour here: https://www.wwf.org.uk/wales/earthhour

And if Earth Hour inspires you to take the next step and start reducing your carbon emissions further, you’ll find suggestions for action you can take on our One Planet Cardiff website: www.oneplanetcardiff.co.uk
