Proposed Educational Visit – Dosbarth Gwynno Sant (Mrs Houston)

Proposed Educational Visit – Dosbarth Gwynno Sant (Mrs Houston) – Autumn Term Free Trip To Techniquest – dates to be confirmed. The Deputy Headtaeacher, Mrs Wheeler, has managed to secure this visit during the autumn term. Children will have access to the new laboratory at Techniquest to conduct science experiments with the children. I have included below the possible activities what the children will be able to participate in and I will choose those that are most relevant to our topic on ‘Plastic Fantastic and ‘How things work’ that are being investigated this term. There will be a cost for the bus, and with the cost of living issues the cost of buses has increased. I will inform you as soon as I have the costs per child. However, I want to give parents sufficient notice to budget for this cost. I would really appreciate parents / grandparents who are able to give of their time to let me know if they can attend once the dates are confirmed. Thank you, Mrs Houston Lab workshops on offer… Workshop 1: Sci-Spy Squad Come and help us solve the mystery of the missing diamond. Students will be using a variety of forensic experiments to help us find out “whodunnit”! Workshop 2: The Magic of Science Is it magic or science? Students will step into the shoes of a wizard in this workshop, as they observe and carry out a range of 'magic or science' experiments! Can they change something's colour, or temperature, or even make something fly?! Workshop 3: Festival of Colour Explore the colourful world of science! Discover the amazing spectrum of colours in science through a range of demonstrations and hands-on experiments! All workshops will be run by the AMAZING SparkLab Cymru team.
