Please go to j2homework on Hwb to view the home learning set for Friday 18th February 2022.
The four purposes of the new curriculum for Wales inform our teaching. Our learning experiences enable our pupils to be:
We understand the importance of literacy skills and their use within the wider world. As part of your child's literacy lessons, they will be learning to spell words relating to specific patterns each week in class. We have listened to your feedback and have made available lists of words that you can study with your child at home. The lists compiled are words that your child will come across as part of their reading in school and are age appropriate. The spellings being focused on each week can be found under 'Homework'. Children will be tested each week on the spellings in focus.
In RE, we follow the Come and See religious education programme. This term we will be exploring new beginnings, other faiths and Advent.
PE will take place every Friday. Please do not wear your kit to school. Instead, bring in shorts/leggings/tracksuit and a t-shirt. The children will also need trainers and in the colder months, a fleece or sweatshirt. Earrings will need to be removed or covered with tape before the children come to school.
It is expected that the children use Bug Club to support to developing their reading skills at home. Books have been assigned to each child and can be accessed using under the 'Useful Links' section below.
Each child has been given a Mathletics log on and password. Tasks need to be completed every week at home.
Every child will need to bring in wellies, waterproof trousers and a waterproof coat with a hood every Tuesday for exploring our woodland area.
Bug Club (School Code: q6wh)
Homework is given out frequently. Children are given a book to read with a reading log to fill in. They will need to write about the book and draw a picture. Other homework may also be given. This may be online or in the form of a project to complete. Children must also access Bug Club and Mathletics on a weekly basis.
