Please do not get stressed about Home Learning. You are, and always have been, your child’s primary educator. If, on some days, you decide your child isn’t going to engage with the activities and wants to spend the day playing in the garden, or baking or watching tv with you then that is your choice. Please take each day as it comes and don’t stress about it. If you are working from home, without support from a partner or family you cannot facilitate learning with a small child AND work from home at the same time alone, it’s not possible to do this, so if you are trying please stop.
Just try to set aside a time to work with your child daily, short bursts…let them become independent, let them be creative and arrange some of their own time, you are not a constant entertainment show.
It won’t be possible to replicate a full school timetable. Giving yourself and your children permission to accept this can be a big weight lifted. Know when to take a break. Sometimes your child will need one, and sometimes you will - this is fine!
Please also use the following resources:
Sunday Liturgy for Families - an opportunity for families to lead their own Sunday liturgy following the order of the Mass, leading to 'Spiritual Communion'. https://www.tentenresources.co.uk/sunday-liturgy-for-families
Daily Prayers for Home - daily prayers rooted in the Sunday Gospel for families to pray together.
These resources will be available until normal service resumes in schools and churches.
There are also prayers each week, for our school community. These will be added to our 'Latest News' each Monday, during term time. I hope you can join myself, school staff and governors at 10.00am, or throughout the day if 10.00 is not possible, to come together as a community to pray.
Take care and stay safe,
