Our Week

Week beginning 12.10.26

This week, we learnt all about the letter 'i' and the sound it makes, we read the hungry caterpillar for literacy and fed the hungry caterpillar it's 'food' using pincers to practice our fine motor skills. We also practised painting patterns onto tinfoil, and we made colourful bubbles! For maths, we practised sorting leaves by shape, size and colour, and sorted shapes into triangle, square or circle. For our context, we used puppets to think about how we can be kind friends, and sorted actions into kind or unkind actions. For P.E., we pretended we were different types of monsters to practice our movement. For phonics, we drummed the syllables in our name, and in the forest we made some very fancy leaf crowns! For religion this week, we discussed how God made the world to be good. We thought about how we can help to look after God’s beautiful world, by looking after plants and animals, and by being tidy. Somebody very naughty had littered our outdoor area with lots of rubbish, so we worked as a team to clean it up with the litter pickers to look after God’s wonderful world. Excellent job St Non.

Week beginning 5.10.26

This week, we have learned all about the letter 'p' and the sound it makes, we read 'Pumpkin Soup' for literacy and decorated our own pumpkin picture. For maths, we sorted objects into big and small, and sorted by shape. For our context, we looked at important jobs in the community, like police men and women, firefighters, and nurses. We matched the types of people to the equipment they'd use. For P.E., we pretended we were superheroes! For phonics we played different rhythms on the drums, and in the forest we did leaf rubbing. For Religion, we carried on with the creation story and retold what God had created each day. We also painted special Earth plates. Then, the yummiest part of all was making chocolate chip cookies on Friday! Delicious.

Week beginning 28.9.26

What a busy week St Non class! This week, we learned about families, and how they all come in different sizes! We shared our family photos and built rock families. For Maths, we practised our matching with our wellies and for phonics we learnt the 't' sound and drummed along to nursery rhymes! We read lots, our literacy book this week was 'Brown bear brown bear'. For religion, we learnt about the creation story. We painted a collaborative display of the 7 days that God created the world. Then, we went to the forest to find anything that God had created, like sticks, leaves, nuts and even spiders! Da Iawn St Non class.

Week beginning 21.9.26

Another week finished for St Non! This week, we have practised throwing beanbags for P.E., practised counting to five, and practised our rhythm on the drums! For religion, we thought about how God made us all to be unique with special interests. We sang and took turns picking our favourite activity from a basket. For maths, we practised our counting to five using our fingers. In the forest, we designed special bracelets with interesting leaves, feathers and seeds that we spotted on the floor. Da Iawn St Non class.
