St Joseph's R.C. Primary School
Week beginning: 28/09/26
This week in Reception, we have been thinking about how we can make promises to look after God’s wonderful world. We talked about the different ways we can care for creation and made our own promises to help protect and care for the world around us.
In Maths, we have been learning about ordering and comparing. We started our learning by reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears and sorting the different-sized bowls, beds and chairs for the three bears. We then practised ordering ourselves by height and enjoyed a range of ordering and comparing games in our small groups.
In Phonics, we have continued developing our knowledge of sounds and this week we have been learning i and n.
In our Context learning, we went on a minibeast hunt! We read A Good Place by Lucy Cousins and thought about what makes a good habitat for minibeasts. We then became minibeast detectives and explored the woods to see which minibeasts we could find.
On Friday, we celebrated Fairtrade Day by wearing Fairtrade colours and learning about what Fairtrade means and how it helps farmers and communities around the world.
