Spring Term Activities March 2026
During the Spring term, we enjoyed many exciting workshops and learning experiences. One of our favourite visits was from South Wales Fire and Rescue, who taught us all about fire safety. We learned how to stay safe at home, ways to prevent fires from happening, and why smoke alarms are very important in keeping families safe. We also discussed what to do in an emergency and how firefighters help people in our community.
We also had an amazing full-day school trip to Big Pit National Coal Museum. During our visit, we explored a real underground coal mine and discovered what life was like for miners many years ago. We saw old mining equipment, learned about the dangers miners faced, and found out how coal mining helped shape the history of Wales. It was a fun and memorable experience that helped us understand the lives of people in the past.
Another interesting workshop we took part in was the Mabinogion workshop. We learned about famous Welsh legends and stories from the past, including why Wales has a red dragon on its flag. We explored the importance of Welsh heritage, traditions, and culture, and enjoyed acting out parts of the stories through drama activities. It was a fantastic way to learn more about the history and identity of Wales.
