St Joseph's R.C. Primary School

Week beginning 27.04.26

In Religion this week, we reflected on the Pentecost story and drew what we think the Holy Spirit looks like. We also talked about how the Holy Spirit helps us to show love and kindness, and took photographs of our friends for Seesaw.

In maths, we learnt about teen numbers using bead strings and number lines to support our understanding. We also used Numicon again to help consolidate our learning and build confidence with these numbers looking at 10 and more.

In phonics, we have now learnt all of our sounds and are beginning to focus more on reading and writing CVC and CVCC words. We are practising writing simple sentences by sounding out words using the sounds we know.

In our context work, we have been learning about kites, following the children’s interests this week. We explored the famous International Kite Festival of Berck-sur-Mer and designed and made our own kites, which we are excited to fly next week. We also thought about the shapes needed to make a kite and began learning about how wind works.
