St Joseph's R.C. Primary School
Week beginning 10.11.25
We have had another great week here in St Non!
This week we celebrated Remembrance day, and so we have celebrated and prayed to God to look after those who have passed. We have also begun discussing Advent, and made our Advent wreaths this week. On our outdoor day, we found some sticks and took part in an interactive prayer, each of us wrapping a piece of yarn around our cross while we prayed for someone special.
As we had Advent and Remembrance Day to learn about this week, we did not have a specific storybook focus. Instead, we read and watched multiple stories about both. We made poppies, drew Advent wreaths in our books, made some to take home and worked together to experiment with colour mixing! We also got messy by mixing, measuring, pouring and sifting flour in our baking Tuff Tray.
Our maths this week took a more practical route, as we weighed and measured to make our own playdough for next week. Don't worry though- we did have lots of maths activities around the classroom so we could still practise!
In literacy, we tested our memory and played Kim's game. Miss Horner can't believe it was our first time doing this- we are SO good at it!
See you next week for our first week of Christmas fun!
