St Joseph's R.C. Primary School
Week beginning 03.11.25
We are so happy to be back with all of our friends and ready to learn so many new, amazing things!
This week, we have been learning all about the amazing things God has created for us in nature. We celebrated the outdoors by making some leaf rubbings, and thanked God for our lovely world. We also learned all about the yummy healthy foods His earth makes for us to eat.
This week, our storybook focus was “Which Will You Choose? This story is about picking out colourful healthy foods at the supermarket. We had great discussions about each page and which coloured food we would pick to eat. We had a go at digging and planting vegetables, talking about how they grow from the ground. We talked about what else vegetables might need to grow, and how we need the same things! We also made art out of potatoes! We hope you liked our potato stamps.
In maths, we started trying to match the value to a number- not just counting! We are going to work on finding out what those numbers look like and mean in the upcoming weeks.
Finally, to end a lovely week of healthy eating, we practised our culinary skills- yes, that means cutting too!- to make a fruit kebab. We LOVED doing this- I think we’re going to be great cooks one day.
Miss Horner and Mrs. Bowen are glad to have us back. We can’t wait for the next half-term!
