This we learned about God’s promise to King David and how this promise connects to the life of Jesus. We explored the idea that Jesus is part of David’s family line and how we believe Jesus fulfils the promise of a special king who brings hope and guidance. We also visited our church to attend Mass, helping us to make real-life links to our learning. We then created our own Jesse Tree symbols to show our understanding of Jesus’ family story. Also, the children learned how to use map grid references. They practised reading the numbers along the bottom and side of a map to find places, and they recorded locations using 4-figure and 6-figure grid references. This helped them build their map-reading skills and deepen their understanding of places in Wales.
