St Joseph's R.C. Primary School
Week beginning 6-10-2025 and Week beginning 13-10-2025
During the week beginning 6th October, we learned about how people in Cardiff work together to make positive changes. We explored the roles of Cardiff Council, youth volunteers, Eco-Schools teams, and local businesses. Using our ideas, we created a collaborative mini action plan to show how people in Cardiff can work together to improve our community. We then used Clipchamp to make a short film of our plans. Each group worked as a team to plan, record, and present their project.
During the week beginning 13th October, we went on a trip to Cardiff Bay, where we learned about the city’s diversity and history. Afterwards, we reflected on our visit by learning about refugees and asylum seekers. In our RE lessons, we discussed what it means for Christians to “love your neighbour” and how this can include welcoming people who are seeking safety.
In Art, we explored our own identities by creating silhouette artwork. Each piece showed who we are and what makes us unique.
