Science Week 2025 June 2^nd Mrs Houston

On Monday, the children used their learning on magnetic poles and gravity to help them predict which materials would be attracted to a magnet and those that would be repulsed. We discussed as a class how we could devise a fair test so that the data we acquired was reliable. The children were introduced to the scientific term ‘the variable’ where they identified what would be different in each test. Pupils then made predictions about what they thought would happen. Once completed, the children conducted the practical aspect of the science investigation. They have to complete what they have discovered from the investigation based on a discussion about natural materials and manufactured materials.(Natural materials that have been changed by man.)

The children engaged in their learning in an enthusiastic and systematic manner.
