January: Water Conflict (Context for Learning)

The children in Dosbarth Gwynno Sant have learnt about water usage in Wales. This learning has been extended to applying mathematics problem-solving skills to compare their usage of water with a family in Uganda. They have been learning that many girls in Third World countries have to travel many miles to gather water and how this impacts upon their lives in terms of water usage and their access to education and promotes a life of poverty.
