St Joseph's R.C. Primary School
Week beginning: 19/10/2026
This week in RE, we have been recapping our learning over this half term, sharing our ideas about how to look after God’s world and collectively worshipping God together.
In Phonics, we learned the sounds e, u and r and continued to practise blending and segmenting words using the sounds we know.
In Maths, we have continued to develop our counting skills by counting to 10, recognising numbers, counting backwards from 10, writing numerals and counting on from numbers other than 0 or 1.
In Context, we have been learning about caring for our environment. We discussed the things that help our environment and the things that can harm it, thinking about how we can all make positive choices.
This week, we enjoyed reading The Colour Monster this week and some of the children chose to create their own colour monster to show how they were feeling. We also were introduced to the Makaton signs for the emotions linked with the Monsters in the story.
We also had an exciting visit from Teddy Bear Hospital.
We are all looking forward to a well-deserved half-term break and are excited for more learning next half term!
