St Joseph's R.C. Primary School
Week beginning 20.04.26
In Religion this week, we learnt about the story of Pentecost. We brought the story to life by acting it out in a fun Pie Corbett style, using masks to help us retell the events.
In phonics, we learnt the sounds ‘ear’ and ‘ure’. We practised reading and writing words with these sounds through games and small group activities.
In maths, we focused on finding one more and identifying numbers in between. We used practical resources and games to help deepen our understanding.
In our context work, we continued our learning around Health and Wellbeing by exploring fruits and vegetables. We learnt the Makaton signs for different fruits and made our own fruit kebabs by rolling a dice to decide which fruits to include.
We also improved our home area, creating a shop with money and real-life groceries to support our role play and develop real-world skills.
