St Joseph's R.C. Primary School
Week beginning 02.02.26
We have had another wonderful week here in St. Non!
This week, we learned more about what Jesus did during his life, and introduced the story of Jesus Feeding the 5000. We listened to the story, had a little discussion, and made some pipe cleaner and bead fish to use in provision over the next couple of weeks!
Miss Horner listened to our interests from last week, so our theme this week was all about light and colour! All week we were experimenting with flashlights; making spotlights, shadows and shining our light through different plastics to mix and make colours. The biggest surprise this week was ORBEEZ! We LOVED having these in our water tray, they were so colourful and jelly-like. There were even fairy lights underneath to light up the different colours. We practised colour matching, and made lovely colourful rainbow sun catchers to brighten up our windows at home.
Outside, we used magnifying glasses to be outdoor sleuths, looking for colour and minibeasts in the mucky, rainy woods. To finish off our week, we made edible rainbows! (AKA fruit kebabs). We practised our cutting and skewering techniques.
Looking forward to seeing what next week brings. See you there!
