St Joseph's R.C. Primary School
Week beginning 01.12.26
Just like that- our second week in Nursery has passed! We are all so inquisitive and curious about our new space, it is all so exciting!
This week, we learned more about the Wise Men that visited baby Jesus, and discussed how Jesus grew up to be a very special grown up. To celebrate the Epiphany, we mixed, measured, poured and baked some lovely donuts, decorating them with cream and cherries to make ‘King Cakes,’ an edible crown!
Our theme this week took us all the way back to the prehistoric age- all things DINOSAURS! We explored in a kinetic sand dinosaur dig, a mossy green dinosaur bath in our water tray, and leaf number matching. Some of us were extra curious- doing research in books with some adult help to find the names of the dinosaurs we were playing with. We also used knowledge from a storybook called ‘Dinosaur Rescue’ in our play, recreating and acting out the scene with figurines.
This week, we ventured out into the wet, rainy jungle in our school yard. We had so much fun jumping in muddy puddles and exploring our wooded area- for some of us it was our first time! We were so brave. Thank you so much to our older children for being great role models to our new starters, you’ve been such great help.
We can’t wait to see what next week brings!
