St Joseph's R.C. Primary School
Week beginning 15.12.25
We did it! We have finished an entire term of Nursery! Miss Horner and Mrs. Bowen can’t believe how much we have grown since September. We have made so many friendships, learned so many new skills and become so creative in our play.
To kick things off, we began our week with our Nativity show. Thank you all for joining us, it was such a special moment and we all worked so hard to get there. Our teachers are SO proud of us for being brave, standing up in front of so many grown-ups and performing is a very tricky thing to do. We loved being in our costumes and showing off our hard work, even if we did get a little nervous at times. We spent the rest of the week talking about why the baby Jesus was so special, how he was God’s son, and that Christmas and Advent are a time for waiting and celebrating.
We had a lovely week full of crafts, exploring, and most importantly: fun!
This week, our storybook focus was “Stick Man,” a class favourite. As Stick Man finishes at Christmas, we used it as our excuse to get properly into the Christmas spirit! We practised wrapping gift boxes, and tuning our fine motor skills to pick up pompom “lights” and place them on the empty wires. We continued playing our Christmas bauble dice game as well.
This week, we celebrated the career of a long-time teacher here, Mrs. Houston. We even got to go to her assembly, and sat so well, joining in with the rest of the school and following their lead.
To finish it off, we had a fabulous Christmas party, complete with treats, dancing and Christmas hats!
We have grown so much this term- we can’t wait to meet our new friends next year.
Happy Christmas everyone!
