Week beginning 12.10.25
This week in Nursery, we learned all about our God's creatures. We recalled our creation story and all of what God made for us. We helped rescue our precious animals from yarn traps using our strong fingers and scissors, as well as getting rid of all of the rubbish from our water to help the fish.
This week's storybook focus was all about The Creation! We read the story and discussed all of the different things God gave us in our wonderful world. We made some beautiful artwork for our creation board, including water marbled fish with sequin scales, colourful feathery birds and stamping flowers. We also worked together to create some fluffy cotton ball clouds and a sparkly moon. We brought colour to our world and tested our fine motor strength by using pipettes to drop coloured water onto tree leaves. During our outdoor day, we used our senses to listen and look for God's creatures, big and small. We then used all of our ideas to make a lovely prayer in our log classroom. To finish our week, we mixed, rolled and cut out sugar biscuits in the shape of mini beasts.
In maths, we came back to our shapes, practising names of circles, squares, triangles and rectangles. We are still practising our counting nursery rhymes as well!
Our sound of the week this week was the letter "I" to make the "i-" sound. We learned a great song about Inky the mouse that squeaks- 'i-i-i'. In case you want to practise at home: we have learned S, A, T and I of Jolly Phonics songs so far! We continue to play Tap Tap Box with nursery rhymes, we have become so great at taking turns, well done everyone!
