Welsh Assembly Government Assessments
Good evening families of Dosbarth Gwynno. The Welsh Assembly Government assessments will commence on Monday 13th May and I have attached a timetable of the dates for the numeracy and maths reasoning assessments as well as the reading assessment. Teachers do not see the tests before the children and all are conducted on a computer to ensure no assistance is given. Children will receive no assistance from myself and both year three classes will complete the test in the hall. If your child does not remember their Hwb password please message me and I will sort this out tomorrow as a matter of urgency and send you the details (thank you, Mr Cobb for sorting this). Obviously, a child who is unwell should not attend school on these dates, but it is far easier to do the test with a large group as opposed to completing the test in isolation. I would encourage you to ensure your child attends on the dates if possible.
The children have worked hard to prepare for these assessments and I will be preparing them even more during the forthcoming days. I have attached examples of maths' papers, sent numerous reading examples on this platform previously. I will commence with the poetry text 'The Owl and the Pussy - cat tomorrow and will continue preparations for the rest of the week.
After the tests, I will return to a normal curriculum intended to take the children's learning forward.
