Meet the Staff

Our very talented artists in Reception Class and reporters from our School Council would like to introduce you to our staff!

 

Mrs Riordan (Head Teacher)

I came to this lovely school in January 2017. I am responsible for making sure we all work together to make our school the best it can be. We are busy at the moment preparing for our new nursery that will open in September. We are also working on making our school building bigger, better and beautiful! There are exciting times ahead for the St. Joseph's Primary community. The best things about our school are the fantastic, hardworking and caring staff and our kind, friendly children. 

Mrs Wheeler (Deputy Head and Reception Teacher)

I am the new deputy head teacher and have worked at the school for 32 years. I currently teach Reception and my after-school club is Eco Club. I am responsible for how maths and numeracy are taught across the school. My favourite thing about St. Joseph's is the children!

Mr Clarke (Year 1 Teacher)

I have worked at the school for 1 year. I currently teach Year 1 and my after-school club is Homework Club. I am responsible for how religion is taught across the school. My favourite thing about St. Joseph's is the friendly, helpful and caring children!

Mrs Tuff (Year 2 Teacher)

I have worked at the school for 4 years. I currently teach Year 2 and I work with the School Council and Fairtrade Committee. I am also the Additional Learning Needs Coordinator. The best thing about St. Joseph's is the children!

Mrs Houston (Year 3 Teacher)

I have worked at the school for 30 years. I currently teach Year 3 and my after-school club is Welsh Club. I am responsible for leading Key Stage 2 and my favourite thing about St. Joseph's is the children!

Mr McHugh (Year 4 Teacher)

I have worked at the school for 3 years. I currently teach Year 4 and my after-school club is Code Club. I am responsible for how ICT and digital competence are taught across the school. My favourite things about St. Joseph's are the ethos and children!

Mrs Lee (Year 5 Teacher)

I have worked at the school for 1 year. I currently teach Year 5 and I am responsible for ensuring we are a 'Rights Respecting School'. My favourite things about St. Joseph's are the lovely children and staff. 

Miss Fairchild (Year 6 Teacher)

I have worked at the school for 1 year. I currently teach Year 6 and my after-school club is Craft Club. I am responsible for how literacy is taught across the school. My favourite thing about St. Joseph's is the children!

Miss Westgarth (PPA Teacher)

I have worked at the school for 7 years. I am the PPA teacher and my after-school club is Netball Club. I am responsible for PE. My favourite thing about St. Joseph's is the kind and caring children!

Mrs Partridge (Teaching Assistant)

I have worked at the school for 22 years. I am a classroom and intervention teaching assistant. I am also the school ELSA. My favourite thing about St. Joseph's is the children!

Miss Chinnick (Teaching Assistant)

I have worked at the school for 15 years. I am a classroom and intervention teaching assistant in Key Stage 2. My favourite thing about St. Joseph's is the children!

Mrs Brookes (Teaching Assistant)

I have worked at the school for 20 years. I am a classroom teaching assistant and work in Reception. I help out with different after-school clubs. These include Netball, Athletics and Glee Club. My favourite thing about St. Joseph's is the community spirit!

I have worked at the school for 2 years. I am a classroom teaching assistant and work in Year 1. I am responsible for Breakfast Club. My favourite thing about St. Joseph's is the lovely children!

Mr Davies (Teaching Assistant)

I have worked at the school for 1 year. I am a classroom teaching assistant and work in Year 4. I am responsible for playing the trumpet! My favourite thing about St. Joseph's is the pupils!

Mrs Ekstrom-Gabb (School Secretary)

I have worked at the school for 13 years. I am in charge of the school office and PA to the head teacher. My favourite thing about St. Joseph's is the children!

I have worked at the school for 6 months. I work in the school office and help keep things ticking along. My favourite thing about St. Joseph's is the children!
